A special solution
Sun, sand, sea, self discovery
This seems like a special solution
Hills, heights, hikes, new freedom
Lots of questions, I found a resolution
Flying south to La Palma, seeing molten Lava
Fresh island air, releasing my cares
My mind now refreshed, my resistances addressed
Finding my feet and soaking up that heat
When your in good spirits and forget about your limits
not counting away those wasted minutes
The world is open to you
This seems like a special solution

Author's Note
This is one of the first poems I ever wrote after travelling to La Palma in the Canary Islands to visit a friend after a toxic break-up. That week in nature I discovered self reflection and a new perspective. I returned home a refreshed man.

Nature is, I think, the single greatest healer available to us. I go to nature as regularly as necessary to reground and release. I'm glad your trek offered you fresh perspective. Nicely written
