The Decline Of Summer

The end of July, and dusk falls sooner
evening shadows settle as August passes
whispers that life is speeding by

another evening
lights on indoors, muggy temperatures
drinkers sit around a patio after the sun has set
enjoying a meal, drinking wine

six weeks remain of summer
