Less Pain/More Gain
They say pain is temporary and eventually subsides
But there's pain inside invisible to the naked eye
Eating at us mentally, physically and spiritually
Therapy examines it medically & philosophically
When mentally drained by dealing with everything
A brain needs a timeout from routes on life's train
But there's no such thing as a timeout from reality
So pain becomes compounded by a world's insanity
There's calamity presently as I sit to scribe this
Causing depression when we want to be bliss
And as we resist negative thoughts of suicide
We choose to remain passengers on this ride
Yet we're tired and try to hide it all with our smiles
Masking despair when we wear our personal styles
Some drown their sorrows by consuming the bottle
Many work nonstop like their foot's on the throttle
The Bible says the Lord's my shepherd; I shall not want
Well I want a more peaceful world if I must be blunt
In front of my eyes outside there is so much pain
When will that pain transform into worldwide gain
