Just A Moment in World History
Thick smoke now forms new clouds below
Where we used to see green and clean rivers flow
Bird song has quieted, trees don't sound the breeze
Life is no longer wild, too filed up to be free
Ignorance spreads faster than any viable seed
And love is contingent to stringent rules of greed
Gone are the days of living off of the terrain
Ecosystems no longer know when it is time to rain
If water or acid falls, which city will burn silent
Or if fields will grow to feed those who've grown violent
Screams replace what used to be chaotic harmony
These demons never got along with other beings in history
It's arrogant that they think all of life will end with them
They know nothing of nature and her will to build again
Like the rocks upon minerals built upon their arrogant kin
They will add to the terrain so the next evolution can begin
Even the universe knows it's days are fed to black abyss
Only sentient beings cry out when they fade into mist
Turning flow into a dam that blocks the energy until it rams
It's wrath ungodly, unrestrained, flowing endlessly accross the lands
Making them unlivable, only viable to ionized radiation
Man made, enzymatic, cataclysmic, vile devastation
Within my prison, I watch as time clicks past these self made dietys
To watch their faces pale in consternation when they start bleeding
Where we used to see green and clean rivers flow
Bird song has quieted, trees don't sound the breeze
Life is no longer wild, too filed up to be free
Ignorance spreads faster than any viable seed
And love is contingent to stringent rules of greed
Gone are the days of living off of the terrain
Ecosystems no longer know when it is time to rain
If water or acid falls, which city will burn silent
Or if fields will grow to feed those who've grown violent
Screams replace what used to be chaotic harmony
