cinch your waist so tight    
within a corset that you are    
permanently disfigured    
     
pump your breasts with saline      
into ridiculous caricatures    
hideously stretched beyond    
personal comfort's capacity    
     
You are unique---    
     
speak words of encouragement    
lovingly to your self rather than    
condemnation and shame;    
     
comprehend you were not born      
into this world a Playmate    
Barbie or Fuck Doll for a reason    
you alone must figure out    
and contend with    
     
How sad it would be    
if we all looked the same?    
     
Self mutilation begins with  
embracing expectations of  
others    
     
It ends with embracing
