Uneasy Balance

Sitting on a dock, amidst
A mantle of sunlight
Draped across my shoulders,

Toes slip
Down
Into the murk
And whispered
Sussurations
Of undulating darkness

I am here
And then I
Disappear
Below the rippled
Surface

Loving sun
Seeps
Lazily
Into my skin

Starbursts
Made of your bonfire
Flames
Flare and dance
Naked
Behind closed eyelids

Blue abyssal
Snaked around
My ankles
In loose shackles

Iím a wishbone
Held
By superstitious fingers

This body
Cradled in cosmic
Hands, whose phantom
Fingers
Pull me apart
From both ends

Unraveling my firm
Resolve, to stay put
Anchored
Here
In this
Uneasy balance
