setting sun.

diving through trapdoors
into pools of memory
how we skimmed the surfaces of stars
ducked under wings of love for shelter
constructed sand castles
and destroyed them in epic battles
how the cool breeze carried our voices like chimes,
we charmed the wilderness with our spirits
we conquered the mighty waves
of fear and injustice
we marched for our beliefs
and gave ourselves to one another,
freely and vulnerably,
because the universe said it would be okay.
remember
how we defied time and thought we were indestructible
and just by believing it, we became so.
how we never wasted a moment,
we just dove in.
how we disappeared for hours
to secret locations for quests and adventures
returning to the homeland
just in time to watch darkness envelop the land
from the King's Throne.
