NYC...
has been sold to the highest bidder
buildings are going up higher..
rent even higher
skyrocketing...politician pocketing bribes
it's greed gone gluttonous
with no logical thought in sight
no insight whatsoever
impending ecological disaster
coming faster and faster
all this 'progress' has become a drain
on the infrastructure
over taxed just like the residents
strained to the max...
trains coming to a complete halt
power outages inducing
outrage...heatwave heightens
frustrations in this new age boil-maker
the puss is coming to a head
get ready for the blame game
the finger pointing..the scapegoating
and the sugarcoating..
the future ain't hard to tell
everything is for sale
in this tale of two cities on one island
cuz soon the haves and have-nots
will have a lot more in common
with that common denominator being
an extended black out...

i was here for the '77 black out...it was bad then
this looks to be way worse cuz of all the over developing
has taken a major toll on the infrastructure of the city
but this is something the politicians damn sure won't
talk about...
i really hope i'm wrong tho

YOUR NOT WRONG I AM FROM NYC AND I WAS THERE IN 77 WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT AND ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE FOR EVEN WHEN IT HAPPEN A FEW DAYS AGO YOU BET YOUR LAST DOLLAR THE BLAME GAME WAS BEING PLAYED ALL AROUND THE CITY

Most of our major US cities are living on borrowed time and $$$ as the infrastructures have not been attended to like it should have been all along.
Reminds me of a time i lived in San Diego, CA, and the City leaders kept either borrowing (or stealing) from the fund that was supposed to go to ensure the sewage system was kept up to date as the beaches is a major source of tourism but one day the sewer lines broke after a huge storm and there was no monies to repair or replace as the fund was woefully low. The beaches had to be shut down for weeks!!
This shit (no pun intended) really pisses me off but what can we as citizens do?
