mercy kill
you got me on a hook
straight through the gills
laid at your boat deck mercy
waiting for the blow that kills
then suddenly I’m lifted up
and I’m examined all around
but I can’t get the hook out
already down for the count
i knew once you got me hooked
when you were dragging me in
i caught just one glance at you
i knew I’d never fight you again
when you pulled me around
after so called stringing me along
i won’t complain on that, baby
here, use the string to my thong
now i’m in big white bucket
and I’m surrounded by minnows
we will all fall to your picking but
can’t say we didn’t get the memo
take the hook out of my mouth
release the hold you have on me
even though you have me hooked
i know I will never again be free
but you got me on a hook

The fishing metaphor is perfect. I think the thong line is clever...yeah just pull this string to unwrap the package...if that's what you meant...if not then forgive my impropriety.

Much prefer catch and release, I got a chuckle reading the part about the string on thong line, I got a mental image of someone flinging a Sandle about on a string, as a thong in Australia is footwear.

Mmmm, you're making me feel hungry with all this fish talk. The theme stays strong throughout & there are many sad lines in this one. The big white bucket, the contents at the mercy of his choosing is poignant.
