hypothetical grievances
what is love
what is adoration
what are all these things
in my transformation
will my eyes adjust
to the fabrication of reality
will my feet grow seasoned
to the sharp edges of humanity
will my arms still reach
for the comfort of your touch
will my eyes lose their shine
when the burden is too much
will my face grow weary
when the pain is too heavy
will the tears still form
to fall when I’m ready
what is grief
what is pain
is it simply not to love
or just to love in vain
what is adoration
what are all these things
in my transformation
will my eyes adjust
to the fabrication of reality
will my feet grow seasoned
to the sharp edges of humanity
will my arms still reach
for the comfort of your touch
will my eyes lose their shine
when the burden is too much
will my face grow weary
when the pain is too heavy
will the tears still form
to fall when I’m ready
what is grief
what is pain
is it simply not to love
or just to love in vain

Re. hypothetical grievances
Brava Liv! What poignant and important questions that for me remain elusive. Love is a mysterious thing and I don't know still that I can identify it properly. Your last stanza is such a wise inquiry. You dive so deep in your work a trait I would expect to find in one much older but you perceive so well things that took me years to understand.

I have managed to remain curious my entire cognizant life and I highly recommend you remain so. You will learn so much more that way.

It is unique to see things and express them with such clarity! The piece fits what good writers want to convey and what perceptive readers want to read. You have a lot to say...hope you'll keep saying it!

I think you're right about what you say in the 5th stanza. Grief & pain are exacerbated by the lack of love or fake love.
"will my feet grow seasoned
to the sharp edges of humanity"
That's a nice line too. I would say love heals. :-)

We question, we question and then we question some more but we just have to keep moving thru it all, for it is our reality and nothing else truly matters.

Pure magic! Your mind is fixed you see so clear, you are a whirl wind sweeping the ocean floor, it parts and we all walk through. You are a snake charmer in the market place, the lady with the poison in her ring, you are mystery.

Oooph...that ending...girl, you went deep on this one. It moved beautifully & with a modicum of words you said so very much. Always question...to do otherwise in this world is to give up. Love...worth the risk but always a risk it will be. ~Willow~
