As time went by

It wasn’t so long ago.
I must’ve been, just about five.
Parents abode, was but a house.
I recall glimpses of that time,
Standing out back, trying to survive.
As time went by.
Along ones path, from junior to high school,
Stood tall lavish mansions.
Standing,
Between my abode and the emergency slip road
Paving their way, along the road to the next zip code
The path.
My journey.
I’m aiming for that.
I know it will happen.
How I long for a place to call home.
Honestly,
Only one problem, I’m still just a child.
For one so young, my trip could take a while.
My path.
I’m paving my way.
Taking day by day.
Now I’ve come to the end.
My path had just vanished away.
For even my new house is just an abode.
Waiting for companionship.
Maybe then, I can call it a home
But wait.
My parents abode, really felt like home.
So, I was always on the right path.
Just had to navigate my way back.
To realise, I was always on track.
