why must we waste so much of our lives working the day away?
no time to live
no time to breathe,
it's only ourselves
we continue to deceive by believing
this is the best and only way to exist
in this world..
but surely there's another way..
for most of us this is a dream everyday,
to escape the system,
escape the routines to see
what it's really like to be free
whatever that even means.

I hear this in stereo. I recently took 5 days to escape to the lake & reset. I'm fortunate enough to have a ton of vacation time banked. But that's because it's hard to get time off. Sometimes the need to dodge the system is like an anvil on the chest. And the dollar signs just don't counter balance well enough. I'm feeling this one...
