The Cure

What do you do when she says you don't exist to her anymore
The two of you have had so many arguments before
She was totally your Boo, dedicated through thick and thin
So much more than a lover, she swore an oath as a friend

She always had my back although I was seldom there
She journeyed through my heart and mind simply by locking her fingers in my hair
The sensation of her breath on my neck and face
Totally revved my engines leaving me feening for a taste

But the problem was that I was a glutton
I couldn't tell the difference between a ribeye and boiled mutton
Seriously disrespected, although loved, her heart was neglected
She was continually stitching, while I was continually dissecting

Determined to be the problem, if I couldn't have my way
She's gonna submit to my wants if she really wants to play
If she wanted to feel my caress, the strains of my needs
The force of my pain, the endurance of my greed

Time and time again, yes she's always taken me back
But now my words can no longer reach her and that's a fact
My words are no longer working, her heart now partially dedicated, has begun searching
Beauty and dedication never an issue, there was always someone lurking

But dedicated to my heart, she refused to return their attention or affection
This was my armament, I used her loyalty as my protection
I was so confident in myself and my deceit
i never took the time to ensure that there could never be a true emotional retreat

I never took that much needed time to make her feel safe
To ensure her that yes she alone had my heart locked away in a personal safe
On a mission to destroy, no hand holding relationship building time
When did things get so blatant that I openly disclosed my heart and mind

Not noticing or caring what was heard or that she saw
I pursued every skirt as if I had never known a lady before
So to see her now with a smile on her face as she shifted from foot to toot
Batting her eyes at him as she enjoyed finally receiving that look

That look that held promises without limits or boundaries
The look that she always deserved, but somehow confound me
So now there a sick pleasure that I'm receiving from my twisted jealousy and pain
My only cure is that she keeps moving forward, and never look my way or back again
