El Pete

There will always be places and people that I return to; no matter how far we live apart, or how our career pathways unfold.

Others, get lost in translation and can’t see the trees from the forest as they go about their day to day whilst casting aspersions and making judgements that do not correlate with certain truths in which they’re not privy to.

I guess, that’s the beauty of keeping such secrets, and what’s not known, won’t necessarily hurt too much.

It’s the only way to justify her on the peripheral of him, and we both know that she’s neither here nor there, she’s just in his life for the convenience of making his life less challenging.

It’s rather sad but I don’t see the point in playing happy families by staying in bonds for the sole purpose of convenience and I guess that’s the difference between her & I, in that I don’t need a man per se.

People come and go; both lovers and friends.

I’ve been lucky to have worked across various portfolios, and established lifelong bonds with many of my previous colleagues; long after leaving a place, and the place of employment, over the past several decades.

It’s hard to fathom how fast time unfolds, and my heart silently grieves for those I’ve lost and never found whilst the have beens and were nots still play tic tac toe with their hearts.

I love these quaint little places that do an all day breakfast with a diverse menu.

The people that come and go are always the highlight, and some remember me and others take a second glance, and approach me before throwing their arms around me and asking a million questions.

OMG. Where have you been ? What have you been doing ? How long are you here ? Wanna catch up later on ? Blah. Blah. Blah.

It’s like coming home though home has always been embedded deep in the heart with no fixed address as my gypsy soul wanders nomadically, and I find myself warming to places and people that have been missing in my life.

I swear, ageing makes you sentimental, and soon I’ll be on another flight, making my way to the next destination.

Life, is good; with, or without and sometimes not getting what you want can be a blessing in disguise when what you bring to the table far outweighs what another has to contribute.

The coffee was great, and so was the dish; El Pete... minus the onion and jalapeños because who needs onion & jalapeños for brunch, right ?!
