After all, that's all there is

(from an improvised song)
So yesterday it's already long gone
Can't say for sure it existed
Not that I miss it
I know that's dismissive
But it's best not to wish it, back
As that involves turning around
And it's not long till you'll have to turn around again
And if you keep on spinning, how will you stop
Here's a strange thing
You think you're listening to me
But really you're not
Right now who knows what I'm doing?
What you hear are sound waves
Apparently recorded
And transmitted through your speaker
But where is the speaker?
It couldn't be the phone could it?
But can you see me?
Can you touch me?
So can you hear me?
I'd argue, probably not.
Apparently there's 7 billion people in the world
Well I can't see them
I can't even see me myself
No mirror in this room
Sure I can see a pair of hands
On the neck of this guitar
But that's not 7 billion people
Not by far
And this moment, right now
It's never going to come again
Already long gone
If you asked me what I ate last week
I probably couldn't tell you
So did I eat anything at all
I'm looking back on memories
And it turns out I barely remember them
Can't be sure of most of the details
So do I really have any
I remember pieces from last night's dreams
Better than I remember some people
So which memories are more real
Is it all just formless fantasy
Portions of this world are uninhabitable
Portions covered in ice
Portions covered in sand
Portions which you couldn't stand
It's all just surroundings
People struggle to improve their housing
Adorning their views and building walls
But me?
I struggle to see the difference
Between a mansion or a street
Isn't it all the same essentially
Just surroundings
Perspectives more or less effective
But effective at what?
Numbing the senses
Or exciting the senses
So are your surroundings
Nothing more than stimulus for senses
And what's the difference between good and bad
Ultimately they're one and the same
What you call up
The birds don't notice
What you call down
The worms don't notice
And when you're walking forwards
That person who passes you by
Sees your forwards as backwards
So which is it? Both or neither?
Is the earth curved
Or is that an optical illusion
Sure I've seen the photos
But then again
I've seen the photos of Bigfoot too
And honestly
I've never been to space
Never seen the earth from out there
Don't even know if there is an out there
But I'm told that it's been proved
And if you don't speak my language
You can't read my words
And if you can't read my words
Then are they words at all?
Or just another crazy persons symbols
They're just squiggles really
And can you honestly say
That the sounds you make in conversation
Have anything to do with the written words they're supposed to represent
Put yourself in perfect isolation
So you're completely alone
Sit down in an empty silent darkness
And call that your home
If you can be comfortable there
Then what else matters anyway
Does matter matter and what's the difference between matters and matter, is there any such thing as a matter of fact or a fact of matter? And infact, does that matter
And if it does matter then what matter does it matter to. I mean you're matter and you matter so that matters to you? Right, but what matters to you might not matter to me and vise versa.. it's all just perspective.
Essentially this is my only belief
We are all finite replicas of some original experience, trying to experience itself in ever more finite detail, and experience is all there is, if you're experienced at experiencing experiences then all experiences are experiences to be experienced until eventually all experiences have been experienced and then the experiences return to that original experience to create once again experiences which weren't possible to be experienced under the original experiences experience. And experience is good or bad, happy or sad, up or down, left or right, but ultimately everything is just an experience to be experienced in order to find new experiences, and if you can appreciate experience regardless of the type, then you will experience nothing but appreciation, only the inexperienced fear new experiences, but the experienced is experiencing itself as that very same finite original experience, and appreciates everything as much as it appreciates nothing, the good the bad and the ugly they're one and the same, pain is as beautiful as joy because they aren't really any different at all and what's beautiful is ugly, what's clear is unclear, everything is as certain as it is uncertain and everything is as permanent as it is already gone, I believe that this is enlightenment, yet I'm sure that I'm wrong for I'm the same as you all of you and some will disagree, so tell me if you can.. what is reality really when you realise nothing and everything are real
It's experience
And that's all you need
So
If you can't be happy
Then don't be sad
Be an experiencee
For all is of the all
And after all
That's all there is
