A Misfortune of Odds Pt. 2 the Dream
A mother's greatest longing
is to see her own child
We, women
desperately we cling
at the future-
we see the future
what could be
and what could have been
I saw the potential in you
Your eyes were blue as waves
washing your love at my feet
gently like the breeze in my hair
Corpus Christi~
We walked the beach
I held your hand
you loved me
Blood severed us
memories rush-
to the hospital
driving, crying
and I knew we would die
just like her..
Scarlett~
You faded from me
I released your ghost
from my skin
even as the smoke
you told yourself helped
pulled you further..
though you clinged to me
like the smell of weed
you couldn't put away
just for a day-
I wish I had one more day
with the dream we made
is to see her own child
We, women
desperately we cling
at the future-
we see the future
what could be
and what could have been
I saw the potential in you
Your eyes were blue as waves
washing your love at my feet
gently like the breeze in my hair
Corpus Christi~
We walked the beach
I held your hand
you loved me
Blood severed us
memories rush-
to the hospital
driving, crying
and I knew we would die
just like her..
Scarlett~
You faded from me
I released your ghost
from my skin
even as the smoke
you told yourself helped
pulled you further..
though you clinged to me
like the smell of weed
you couldn't put away
just for a day-
I wish I had one more day
with the dream we made
