Open heart surgery

Smiles and a kind word. a hug that disarms
Wishings fairy footsteps did they play a part
The tinkling ripples of your dreams and hopes
When expectation outweighs the punches that life throws

Prostrate your emotions lay it all on the line
Togetherness signed and always be entwined
The candles have burned and a chill in the air
Wipe off the dust, was it shine or just a supreficial glare

No kind words like plasters can patch or repair
The tears you knitted and dropped in despair
An organ so damaged a pulse left so weak
The ruptured and battered a hurt thats so deep

Can you be the medic attend those so sick
Stitch back the trust and the love that it needs
And on your oath  go down on your Knees
Open the heart that you closed recently

Repair the trauma that someone else wrought
Defibrillate all the misuse that was caused
And be there forever for good and for worse
For care is a keystone and regard the nurse
