The First Step

I have seen happiness
In the eyes of many
Who live this life

They are able to give
Their children what they want
They are able to go buy what
They want, within budget
They find a partner with similar
Aspirations and things work out

They are happy
That is all that matters
That your smile is genuine
That your heart isn't heavy
And you feel full of life

But the thing is

I know that there is more
This is not a matter of
Chasing the bigger deal
But what I feel inside of myself
I know that I can become more

I have to give myself a shot

Because I am the best bet
I have got

The goal is to be happy
My happiness is the fruit
Of my creation
My happiness is in another lifestyle

My goal is not to endure
My goal is to overcome
My goal is to break the cycle

I will not judge someone else
For loving this life as it was created
To keep humanity functioning
But I will go up the ranks
I will be part of those of a different class
I will be one of those
Who create Happiness
From doing what they love

This is my inclination
To leave this race
Is a decision
That is derived
From my souls destiny
