Successful but Not Happy
I've done well
If you measure things in the monetary sense
I'm restless though
Still searching
Beyond will have to wait
Got work to do
It ain't 9 to 5 either
My journey continues
Callouses and bourbon await

I'm both successful and happy, Cowboy. Took me a lifetime to get there too. Wouldn't change a thing. I'd struggle all over again to be able to live the end like this. ❤

The struggle is half the fun
The repetition of things that never change gets in the way of progress
Happy for you
The repetition of things that never change gets in the way of progress
Happy for you

A Scorpio's worst nightmare is the mundane. But of course you know this.
Thanks, Poet.

Re. Successful but Not Happy
It’s funny, I’m reading this as my union and the powers that be failed to reach a new contract that should extend into my retirement.
On a certain level I could give-a-shxx bc I’m at the top of the food chain salary wise; but is that how I want to be remembered ... “the guy who made the most, and left with the most” ... ?
I pray not, but good bourbon 🥃 will quickly dull my doubts

See that's the thing. I could work until I don't want to and that's a good thing but the repetition is slowly killing me. I was never good at that. A lot to ponder in the next few months.
I was just thinking about you today in the park and wondering why I haven't seen you around these parts. Hope you are well.
We need that bourbon son ....

I've just been busy as hell. I'm in grad school at St. John's. With any luck, and a lot of hard freakin work, I'll cap of my doctorate in the spring of 2020.
I was at (and in) Grant's Tomb a couple of months ago to show some folks around who'd never been. That park bought back a lot of childhood memories as my family use to picnic there when I was a kid.
Be well, and keep enjoying the park for both of us

I don't understand this "success" thing of which you speak.... how exactly is that measured? When is it enough?
I find I'm happiest when I'm working towards making someone else happy. In other words, not thinking about myself at all (because that just generally makes me miserable). But maybe that's just me. I hope you find some happy.

It's never enough
My happiest moments are quiet and away from the center
Writing and creating

Success is not equal to happiness. Most often happiness are found in simple things.

Restless helps ya find the right path. If ya don't wander, you'll never get there. Keep the thoughts in motion
