why do the statues never move
you, with your critical eye,
seeing only a dead general upon a horse,
or maybe some long dismissed
politician, I dunno why, but you're very
literal, of course ..

In our new bold era where "everything revolves around me" I'm wondering if you moved past the static statues - or did moving statues move past a static you?
I think it all depends...
on whether our poet speaks of motion... or emotion...
and that depends...
on whether our crafty poet meant to move the statue
or move his listener...
and that depends...
on whether we add an imaginary period after the word, "move"
or let it connect grammatically to 'you'...
