.. our unborn dreams to one day live here..

We take night strolls along dark abandoned corridors yet expect our feet not to stumble over the gravel and the dead leaves,
We stand in front of our mirrors and stare into these haunted skeletons of former self,
All our hopes and dreams we have buried in places where no one looks because they're places that tell stories about ourselves we just don't wanna hear,
We break apart in the company of our own selves yet expect to not feel lonely in the arms of strangers
We walk barefoot on colded concrete with pieces of broken glass scattered all over,
Probably wishing to cut ourselves hoping the pain lifts us from the misery of being alive,
And many times we want to feel it,
We want to feel the guilt rip our gut inside out
We walk into old forgotten quiet libraries,
Seeking for answers from tattered pages in closed chapters of dusty books
We sought for life in cemeteries, amongst the lifeless and their mourners
We chase the darkness and try to grasp the passing wind,
We seek for victory in battlefields where victory shouldn't be sought
And for warmth in abandoned souls,
Souls that nolonger have owners
Souls from which warmth shouldn't be sought
Other times we willingly open ourselves up to vulnerability,
By placing our hearts in chests where love can't bloom
Then later curl ourselves up against walls at dark corners feeling beaten, defeated and disappointed
All these in a bid to feel a feeling,
To just not feel vague and empty and worthless
See all we want is for our hearts to beat here,
And for our unborn dreams to one day live here.
