Venus

You rise in the twilight
for I too bask in the dark.
While I desire the burning daystar,
I thrive in the night.

You’re ornamented with hues of
Hell and Heaven, lust and purity.
While I embellish the hues
of an angel’s velvety cape.

They say that your realm is tormenting,
whipped in lashing wind,
merciless sexually,
while you indulge in lustful divinity.

You are the burning star in my night sky
when I am with you.
Mother of love, sexuality,
do what you will!

You glisten like a star
and wink at me constantly
through the veil of black.
As for love, my heart mourns and sobs.
