Howling At The Moon

I can’t even tell you all the times
This bitter life has left me scarred
I’m always shooting for the moon
Just so I can land in the dazzling stars

But you’ve got me drunk on your laugh
From every word that leaves your mouth
All because I’m just a lone ragged wolf
Searching for a safe place to hide out

Here I am howling at the moon
All this still in search of you

I don’t know which way is left or right
I’m way higher than I’ve ever been
And I never want to come back down
Still no place to go, left my lonely den

I’ve been digging at the garbage sites
In search of what my soul longs for
I’ll be channeling my big bad wolf
Seeking you out to blow down your door

Here I am howling at the moon
All this still in search of you

I’ve been down the deepest valleys
Voice is strained from howling my chorus
And following my inner compass North
Trekking through the largest forests

It’s a pull in me to find what I seek, but
Not sure how much longer I can wander
Maybe I’ll just lay here and rest easy
Because time I have, yet cannot squander

Here I am howling at the moon
All this still in search of you
