The little people

 

When you have built the sky scrapers and dwarfed the individual,
What will you build on top of us, to bury the voice of the people?
When you have stolen our voices and silenced the controversial,
What will become of freedom of speech?
And who will aid liberty’s revival?


I’m the man on the moon and the man in the films;
I’m the man protesting and I’m the man in flames.
I’m just a man who speaks out to disclaim your views;
I’m just one man with one voice,
So why must you cause me so much pain?


Black out the eyes and send us all blind;
In a disfigured world where no-one is on the little people’s side,
Can we not just agree to disagree and live our own lives?
Can we not be allowed to find the strength within to save our own life?


When all rights are removed and the persecution resumed,
Who are we, the little people, going to turn to?
When you have banished our leaders to a prison or tomb,
What will the little people do without a voice of their own to use?
