Inner Self
Why is it
That I am who I am?
How I am?
What I am?
Who is it
That calls all the shots?
That decides the decisions?
Is it God that's responsible
For lifes paths that are taken
Does he give us a jolt
To ensure we're not mistaken
When you stop in mid sentence
Seeking reassurance
To prevent you from encountering
On some dirty occurrence
Take heed, it may be your inner God speaking
Your angel, your conscience
Or common sense yearning
Think twice before heading down some ugly road
Or you may find yourself with a very heavy load
That I am who I am?
How I am?
What I am?
Who is it
That calls all the shots?
That decides the decisions?
Is it God that's responsible
For lifes paths that are taken
Does he give us a jolt
To ensure we're not mistaken
When you stop in mid sentence
Seeking reassurance
To prevent you from encountering
On some dirty occurrence
Take heed, it may be your inner God speaking
Your angel, your conscience
Or common sense yearning
Think twice before heading down some ugly road
Or you may find yourself with a very heavy load
