She's Not to blame
She was not
to blame
the blame is mine
to claim
i let her
slide under
my skin
into my heart
with my eyes
open wide
with my mind
on wishful thinking
dream time
as she sucked me dry
an emotional wasteland
she left behind
but as they say
life
will find a way
so my feelings
will learn
to grow again
one day
She wasn't to blame
the blame is mine
the signs were there
i refused to see
i didn't look
behind the scenes
behind her smile
behind her eyes
behind the walls
she hides behind
and for that
i pay the price
a broken heart
a fractured voice
a river of tears
when i remember
the lonely fears
i thought
i'd left behind

Maybe, an actual conversation would enable each of you to discern what you both need from one another, to enable you to move forward !
Of course, you may not wish to do so, and that’s your prerogative. Oft, a simple breakdown in communication can easily be rectified.

lays the problem
when a beautiful mind
has been
betrayed
spiritually broken
used and abused
to trust another
with an open mind
is no different
then jumping
in front of a train
if you don't read
the signs
and adapt
your way of thinking
to help
a beautiful mind
that you have come
to deeply care for
then you will
pay the price

Yes, but it doesn’t have to be that way !
Communication, is key to avoiding the train wreck analogy.
Are we not supposed to reach out to those we care about to work through those internal anomalies, and perhaps help to rectify any insecurities, once they emerge ?
No relationship is ever perfect but explicit communication is definitely foundational to attaining shared happiness.
Trust, isn’t usually a given as it’s something that’s attained over time, don’t you think ? It has to be reinforced by behaviour too.
