til sewers overflow,
how much i loved you.

no one will see
beyond the perfidy,
of how night holds us.

o, the latent echos of harm,
and intent of starlight charm,
do nothing to alter the tide.

just beings wit dangerous brains
bellowing cliched refrains,
returning  to the sewage drains,

                     where best it is that they hide
