Hollow lines

Once upon an unsure time
You knew me as well as I
But lets face it, we were never of sound mind
Once parallel wavelengths are now skewed lines

Either way

We could never touch, not in any mathematical design
Cosmic or tangible, we are eternally unaligned

You no longer speak from any point of view
I dont understand the point of me near you
Here, words are more hollow and forced than ever
Why has this relationship not been fully dismembered?

Because whisps of what was
Lofts in air that is vacuous
The sound of our song
Rings faint and continuous

So, turning my back slow
I pull in my headphones
Listening to rhythms grow
In ever-trilling, new tones

We reject the wings that gust to atone
It seems the wind blown is as always,

Hollow

Offering silver, tearing up treasures to excite
But our sight is weary of small slivers of light
Now, take off in the cover of perpetual  night
Yeah, you were never, truly within our sights.
