Consider if You Will from Hill Top’s View - Sonnet 22

Consider if you will from Hill Top’s view,
The pause of man in motion’s frozen time,
The oddity of thought once caught, mis’strues
Reality in others’ warped design.

For how the monkeys’ chatter, chatter brings,
When purest lies are caged as “alter(ed) facts.”
The money-whiskeyed talking heads will sing
Their pipers’ song in “work makes free” distracts.

When words like “sov’reign self in God’s ordain,”
Are used to spit on victims “self-brought” blame.
Or words like “help themselves” despise contain,
While “least of these” forgotten without shame.

So quick to sell their moneyed-god with fear,
As from a well thrust sword, a cross appear.

Author's Note
from a conversation I over heard in Starbucks yesterday - basically boiled down to "my God ordained sovereignty over myself gives me right the to condemn and despise everyone who does not believe the way I do... thank Jesus!"   "work makes free" in the last line of the second quatrain is from the German "Arbeit Macht Frei" a rather famous gate adornment in history - look it up!
