Hotdog batteries

Jammed the serrated knife in my index finger cutting an onion,
the bleed trickles over the grilled vegetable day.

I stand in the DMV lines just like you.

half a song wraps around and melts off;
tapers ,and dies.

a smile is all I ever wanted.
