Sonnets of my life, lately do nothing for me.
I've tried to turn the other cheek,
like the first one's been hurting
from the furnaces and infernos of my past burning.
Heat crackling, snapping and swirling.
I'm here now, I passed and feel through with the learning.
Let's switch the subject before I become wrecked.
I did a lot of bad in certain mental states and had to pay some respects.
Ghost of the past pass through my dreams, I wake up in sweat.
Filled with regrets, I distract myself to avoid any threats.
I'm sidestepping lines, my last chapter riddled with mines.
I lift each new day's curtains slow, as I'm unsure what's behind.
I'm liable at any time to fall back on my spine
and spill this ink to the floor like the shells of a nine.
