Pausing as I please
every so often needing
to lick these lips
and fingertips
during my oral reading
for a captive audience
on its knees
I continue paging through
quickening the pace
feeling pulse race
in this heated tongue of mine;
victim's body still warm
It's the suspence that is
building
filling the room
killing
until . . .
FINALE!
Excitement
can no longer be contained
in the climax so thrilling; you
on the edge of your seat
Murder mystery complete
with dinner theatre
Iapped up with a passion
Would you lay with me
for another chapter?
Slay me in similar
fashion?

Brava Mary! I love the title...I'd peel back the cover on that book and savor the mystery inside...never wanting it to end. This piece reminded me of the dress-up murder mystery dinners we used to play.
