the night whispered to me its melancholy secrets
it was wary of me and my feelings
they swirled, rippled, and caused whirlwinds of distress
in the peoples surrounding me

so it lulled me into a place of sanctuary
where I could take breath
easing myself in the mood of the evening
I found I was relaxing a little

releasing the tension of the day
for it was a vulnerable one
inner feelings had their say
leaving tiny seedlings of remembrance
at the foot of the weeping willow

in time they will blossom
and whisper their quiet melody to the winds
harmonizing in the land of mortal men and women

a chorus of emotion
held closely by the great tree
who weeps on the breeze for all humanity
it bends but never breaks
as an example to us all

when the weight of the world gets too heavy
remember you don't bear it alone
nature its self lays witness to your inner struggles
and gently urges you on

the night was finally at peace
knowing I passed along its message
to the heavy hearts who plant their own special flowers

it is the cycle of life
and so it is written
weep with the willow today
make merry in the summer

seasons come and they will go
please believe the light you possess is eternal
tonight take your place in the sky
illuminate the path of your brothers and sisters

the evening caressed me
and I took leave of my sorrow
knowing tonight I shine
with the love of the angels
