Forgive
I can forgive
I can't forget
Those words cut me
With time I looked back
Thinking not of me
Thinking of you
The deep anguish
The fire in your throat
The venom you screamed in words
The passion of frustration
I left
I won't return
At first I wanted an apology
Now I want nothing
It wasn't that hard to leave
It almost made me smile
I can't forget
Those words cut me
With time I looked back
Thinking not of me
Thinking of you
The deep anguish
The fire in your throat
The venom you screamed in words
The passion of frustration
I left
I won't return
At first I wanted an apology
Now I want nothing
It wasn't that hard to leave
It almost made me smile

It's ironic that you can get it all in the first 2 lines but feel compelled to still write more.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment !

When the leaving is easy, it's an overstayed visit. Definitely time to walk away from that

Re. Forgive
There's a litmus test that tests the weight of staying together against the weight of separation; when the latter becomes heavier than the former, it's time to leave.
I am like you - I can forgive easily and move on - no one gets to control me through unforgiveness. I discovered that years ago. But, also like you, I do not forget, nor am stupid enough to put myself in that position again ( especially when you KNOW the person has not changed ). It's as foolish to forget as it is not to forgive.
Good ink, Cowboy.

Thanks A
I remember ever fuck over of my celebrated life. Forgiveness is doable but the Scorpio never forgets. If you’re cocky enough to test my memory, I say “Just try me”

Never having to endure a break-up I can't relate to how hard or easy in may be, but this same mindset is the way to live if inner peace is the objective.

It's easier to forgive but forgetting is harder. Sometimes it takes a lifetime.
