Some Guy

He was awful on the eyes
kinda bald, kinda not here and there hair
wearing a typical dirty stained
white tank top known offically as the
wife beater his jeans were blue, once,
now they looked like muddied water
his shoes though,
were fancy, black and glossy
looking as if they had just been shined
I could see my reflection in the gleaming
leather.
He stood next to me waiting to cross
the street I greeted him with a slight
non-toothy grin
he greeted me with a smile so white
and almost sunlight bright it brought
happiness. Now I was intrigued. We crossed the street together.
He smiled and waved at everyone he
passed not everyone smiled and waved
at him. He was not put off by the
inaction of others he just kept on greeting every person he saw, as
his pace picked up I noticed a little
pep in his step, it seemed like the more
he smiled and waved the lighter he got
he looked as though he was walking
on clouds. I followed behind him a
few more blocks watching people
ignore his kindness watching some
smile back all the while thinking this
guy was a real human, his appearance
was what I first noticed but it should
have been his soul.  I will follow his
example as a penace for my shallowness
I will smile more at strangers and look
at the eyes instead of the clothes.
I wish I would have looked at his
it's the only thing I didnt notice.
