A Twist of A Vampire’s Fate V

Hello From, The Other Side
VASILE TABARCA’S RESIDENCE
Tremere Vampire Clan
Sighisoara, Romania

Vasile turned his black Escalade SUV onto a hidden road, which you may never find if the road was never revealed to you.
Naynina noticed several homes grandeur in styles. Homes that dated back to her best estimate, the fifteenth century. Several of the homes if she did not know any better, she would say, looked like medieval castles.

Naynina felt a soft hand on her thigh. She turned her attention from the window. She looked down where Vasile rested his palm.
His palm was strangely cool to her skin.

“I suppose the saying rings true, cold hands, warm heart.”
Vasile lifted his hand and placed it back on the steering wheel.
“Yes, so I’ve been told.”

Vasile pulled his vehicle around the paved driveway of a colonial style limestone four story mansion.

“Professor Constantine’s home is beautiful, enchanting, and grand.”
“Ahh, this is not Professor Constantine’s home, this is my residence. I wanted to get out these traveling clothes.”

Naynina looked down at her watch. She looked over at Vasile.

“I hope you can change in record breaking time. I’m way past late, and my professor has his students on a curfew, and my absence does not look professional, especially, since I am the captain.”
Vasile looked down at his watch.
“I would have you at the threshold of Professor Constantine’s residence within the next hour.”

“I am holding you to that.”

Vasile withdrew his key from out the ignition. He then unsnapped his seatbelt.
Naynina unsnapped her seatbelt.
Vasile opened the door and stepped down from out his SUV. He pushed the door close and walked around to the passenger side. He opened the door and assisted Naynina from out his vehicle. He pushed the door close. He grabbed onto her hand with the injured finger. He was hoping to squeeze it into bleeding again.

“You have a very very nice residence. I suppose a professor in Romania makes a lot of money.”
“We’re known to get by.” He winked at her
Naynina smiled.
Vasile led Naynina up to a cobblestone stairwell.
Both descended the steps.
Naynina looked back.
The land was encased in a dense fog.
She felt as if she was walking back in time. A sense of deja vu gripped her sense of direction.

“Are you okay?”

Naynina turned back around and looked at Vasile.

“Yes. I swear, I’ve mounted these steps before.”
“Really, now that’s interesting.”

Vasile was becoming euphoric. He felt the wetness in the palm of his hand. An enraptured feeling smothered his conscious; sharpening his awareness. Vasile slowly unlatched his hand from Naynina’s hand
As he thought.

Naynina’s finger was bleeding.

“Baby, your finger is bleeding again.”
“I suppose you want to suckle my poor bleeding finger again.”
“I was always a sucker for a very beautiful woman.”

Vasile slowly lifted Naynina’s hand up to his lips. The passage of his mouth blanketed her finger. He closed his eyes and suckled the blood; the plasma and whole blood cells rushed his system.

Naynina’s eyelids fluttered open several times and then closed. She was becoming dizzy and slightly disoriented. She was still standing right.

Vasile caught Naynina’s body before it slumped to the cobblestone. He hurried up the remaining steps. He looked down into Naynina’s face. He leaned down and licked the blood reside from around her mouth.

“Welcome home my love.”

He kicked on the door.

The door was opened by a woman. Two men stood behind her.

“What is the meaning of...”
“Wait.”

The three standing sniffed the air.

“You’ve brought home a virgin.”
“Not any virgin, but this virgin will sustain the bloodline of our clan and...”

His brother folded his arms across his chest.

“And how is a very…beautiful woman, who I assume is as any other virgin who we all have turned, going to save this dying clan.”
“Lift her finger and taste a sample.”

His bother looked over at his younger brother and then over at his mother. He looked back at his middle brother.

“This should be interesting.”

His older brother lifted Naynina’s hand and examined it.

“I said taste not play with it.”

His brother sighed and then inserted Naynina’s bleeding finger into his mouth. His eyebrows arched. He withdrew his mouth, his fangs descended.

“No, do not turn her, not just yet.”

His brother’s tongue smothered Naynina’s finger. He licked it up and down as the river of blood continued to drain. He looked down at the woman who his brother held in his arms. He took her finger back into his mouth.

“Enough man.”

His brother’s lips slowly eased Naynina’s finger from out the confinement of his mouth.

“Mmm,” Naynina moaned, her head flopped back.

His brother wiped the smear of blood away with the back of his hand.

“Who is this woman? And why does she carry the molecular DNA of a Fairy?”
“Yes, her blood will uplift this sagging dynasty. However we have a small problem, she is promised to Dracon.”
“Son, what does Dracon have to do with this woman?”
“Mother, this woman is an archeologist student and she is his guest for some form of a dig, and get this, to find, and possibly dig up a vampire.”
“It’s very strange that this woman may be one herself, and have not been properly introduced into the immortal culture of her existence.”
Vasile’s brother looked down at Naynina.
“You may want to take her to one of the guest bedrooms until she regains her strength. Now that her blood has been embedded inside you and me. This could get complicated. To feen for Fairy’s blood and cannot have it, it’s a slow death. And I am centuries old to befall my grace because, I cannot get the required blood of a very beautiful woman.”
“Then how the fuck are you planning to get something she doesn’t know she possess. And, if Dracon gets a whiff of her. We’re all doomed.”

His brother palmed his chin.

“I have a plan. Wait, how does Dracon know if she has arrived?”
“She’s already contacted her professor, and once she awakens. I have the gentleman duty of escorting her to Professor Constantine’s residence personally.”
“Let me talk among the elder members of the Authority. This can become ugly in the end. Two clans fighting for the blood of one woman could doom us all in the end. However, this is the day, our clan, and any other clan who may come to discover this woman’s properties have been waiting for. I never knew Fairies even existed in this century. I must admit, from the tingling sensation coursing through my body I am now convinced at this given moment, and I can totally believe in the impossible.”
“Vasile,” Naynina moaned.
“Go,” Vasile whispered to his mother and his two brothers.

All three disappeared in a quicken flash.

Naynina’s eyes slowly opened. She pivoted her head and then looked up into Vasile’s eyes.

“Wh…What happened?”
“You fainted.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes, I was teasing you about suckling your finger, which I never got around to doing. Before I knew it, you went out on me. I happen to cushion that beautiful body before you damaged it.”
“Thank you. I suppose, I have to thank you properly, once I get settled.”
“Yes you do, and I am a very hard man to please.”
“And, I do not like the word, no, handsome.”
Vasile leaned down and kissed Naynina. He retreated his lips.
“I really need a woman like you in my life.”

Naynina gathered her arms around Vasile’s neck.

“And what kind of woman would that be.”
“The kind of woman, I would love to lie beside at night, wake up to her comforting smile. A beautiful body used under the sheets at my discretion, and a woman who would bring greatness back to this residence.”
“There you are son, and who do we have here?”

Naynina unhooked her arms from around Vasile’s neck.

“Mother, this is Naynina. She is a college student here in Romania, for a project dig hosted by her university.”
“Would you be staying for dinner young lady?”
“Some other time ma’am and thank you for the hospitality all the same.” Naynina turned to face Vasile. “I really have to go.”
“I will leave you in the company of the first woman in my life, and I will be back down.”

Vasile uprooted Naynina’s feet. He walked out the open foyer; he looked back, and then quickly disappeared up the grand staircase.
