Deck The Halls

In a way I’m decking the halls
Trying to erase your memory
From the windows to the walls
See, I got a brand new energy

I ripped all of your clothes down
Tore all your pictures off the wall
I can’t stand to see signs of you
And don’t want to look at you at all

I’ve already scrubbed my nails
From clawing down your back
And I even burned the sheets
Grabbed all of your shit out back

There’s not much even in there
Some junk and unmatched socks
I placed it by the front door
All wrapped up in a small box

You’re the ghost of my past
A dream I could’ve only dreamed
I tried to love you anyway
But you’re not what you seemed

So take it all, don’t miss anything
Don’t talk to me, just be quiet
You had your chances and lost
Don’t try cause I won’t buy it

So I shut the door and I lock it
My breathing starts slowing
I take a look at my clean slate
I’m so glad that you’re going
