Unborn Dreams

my lineage of unborn dreams
a pattern and a will unclaimed
the grasp at opportunities denyed

of time stood in the dunces cap
sat upon the naughty step
the cane that marks nought out of ten

the scars upon the soul that never heal
the correction pen was always red
the playground bullies taunts inbread

just a can kicked down the road
the litter that society needs disposed
lifes grffiti its tag is singed regret

a ration book, the food bank plate
left overs stale and out of date
rotten teeth the stains that never fade

improve you may
but memories return another day
hard life that ball is still in play
