Rain
I woke up to the sound of rain
Falling in the early morn
It was pouring heavily
On the roof and on the ground
I went back to sleep
Lulled by the sound of rain so sweet
But the loud roar of thunder
Roused me from my troubled sleep
The rainy morning dragged so slow
As the rain kept pouring down
Created a pool of water
That almost flooded the ground
And when the rain finally stopped
The ground was turned into mud

That's nicely evocative, Summer - can almost hear the rain (been raining heavily here too).
I like the switch from the notion of rain as a 'friend' ("Lulled by the sound of rain so sweet") to the 'downside' of rain at the end of the poem - ("mud"). It's these kind of unexpected twists that make the reader suddenly sit up and think - just what poetry is, in a few short words, meant to do.

Love the flow and use of repetition here. Understated and clever use of language.
