My NaPoWriMo Voyage

My first week of NaPoWriMo voyage passed by smoothly
Despite the daily bumps along the way
Now I'm on the second week
As I write these eight entry
Twenty two more days of writing for the NaPo month
And still a long way to go to the finish line

A wide stretch of ocean is still waiting to be crossed
That is deeper and darker and could turn turbulent as the days wear on
I am beginning to feel the pressure of this voyage
As uncertainty looms ahead

The harbor is very far from sight
Too far for mooring yet
I'm starting to wonder if I can make it to the end of this competition
Without having my sail dismasted by the wind

This is going to be a tough voyage for me
As I'm competing and racing with myself
To see how far I can go
To discover the stuff I am made of

Do I have what it takes to be a true poet?
Only time can tell and this NaPo journey is my baptism by fire
My initiation to the world of poetry writing and writers
