Like Fireflies

Like fireflies
Our burning embers
Are caught on the night breeze

An illusion of flickering flames
Our flames entwining
Dancing in the starlight

There’s no disguising passion
As we melt together
Like dew drops on morning grass

Ancient gods our ancestors prayed too
Bare true witness
To our prayer of fiery lust

It’s beautiful in its physical form
The shared hot breath of a kiss
That seems to last an eternity
