Eliciting Paragons
Eliciting Paragons
(Ten of 30 -- Official DUP NaPo/GloPoWrimo 2019)
It hasn’t been easy, my search
pining for a spiritual lover
resonating in synchronous reunion
with me.
I’ve traveled so many miles
worn out so many shoes
kissed so many lips and smiles
micro-scoping for those hidden cues.
You know, the cues that often
look like a patchwork of camouflaged
rose thorns, years of emotional pain.
I’ve reached out to hundreds of strangers
stargazing through their eyes
rummaging through piles of dead
dreams and butterflies
settling because I’m tired of being
alone.
It never lasts.
My life always seems to find a way
to punish me for my lack of
perseverance and patience.
I find myself back on the road
alone only to settle anew
despite a search, unfulfilled.
Recently, another search
graced my path with eerie
similarities and vibration.
She gave me permission
to stargaze and I thought
I saw a halation beneath
piles of scrapbooks
& old photo albums.
I have a strong feeling
that I am not settling
this time and that
my search has come
to fruition.
