Echoes of Old 'Hollow

Title:  Echoes of Old 'Hollow
Ten of Thirty
Unique Words: Eighty

#NaPoWriMo19

King fern tumbles up from a golden clump
of matted roots, years old, protruding earth.
Chilled air smells fresh - holy, green rain - deep soil bounces with life.

Old cherry wears his blossom as medals
of energy reserves he's protected over-Winter.
Full stream sings her busiest song, a sparrow flits across raised beds for worms.

This Spring runs upon a history of promise that may last the Summer through
- with any luck!
My young spirit is thumping with pride
at what we've achieved in such short time, in this life-giving space - once so neglected.
