[ NaPo 2019 ] The Stray Welcomed To Stay

 
Perhaps one soul out of two  
might be inclined to think
houses litter-boxed with thirty catses
( give or take a few ) just might stink;
would be free of rodentia
especially mouses and ratses  
Phew! I'm so very thankful  
there aren't any batses!
 
I certainly do have my hands full
Paws push, claws pull me
in directions a'plenty
 
Though, I've never been the type
to turn any strays away
What ends up on my doorstep
is welcomed for a stay
 
Guess who entered my life  
as far back as 801 days?
 
You! That's right! Whoa!  
 
And I continue to pray I'll know  
you better today throughout tomorrow
and every new day after thatses
