“Five Stages”

                   

It’s said, there’s “stages” to grief
an approximation, towards relief

Denial... why accept n’ face
when one can avoid ‘that space’

Anger... gotta lash out, fight
the wretched pain, breech
the barriers for more disdain

Bargaining... make a deal with God
offerin’ up to impossibilities’ nod

Depression... what’s the expression?
“Get over it” damned if I’m wantin’
to sit in this well, but why fake
when anyone can tell?

Acceptance... if this is life n’ just how it is
Lord grant me the strength to persevere
the many trials n’ tribulations such as this...
