Alarm Clock Lament

There is nothing exotic here
in this undeveloped place
work to pay
for the basic necessities
to emulate the balance
leisure suffers
under tense deadlines
always thinking ahead
missing the moments
we will reflect on
after the opportunity
of a passing glance
is recovered
in lonely hours
we see a model
of stagnant living
fully ensnared in the trap
those needed releases
blocking the flow
of engagement
leaving gruff scowls
to marr the radiance
that once was.
