Earth Song
Come walk with me and I’ll sing to you
Of the shame of naked trees
The hope of pussy-willows
As they hear spring in the breeze
Behold the fickleness of clouds
and the arrogance of crows
Feel the deviousness of mud
and the misery of a rose
As summer matures we’ll taste and see
the pungency of beaches
Persistence of the violets
and the dishonesty of peaches
From spring through summer and ‘round again
Earth’s choir sings its song
Come walk with me and feel the refrain
and we both can sing along
