Still Hurts

Vibrant colors flare up in the sky
But I can’t see them, for I’ve become blind
Why am I still fighting? Even I don’t know why
Yet I know I must continue, or I’ll surely die.

Slow down; take one step at a time
I’ve lost my spark, but one day I’ll shine
There’ll be good days and bad; it’s okay to cry
I won’t give up; I’d rather die.

Breathe in deeply, feel the calm wash over me
Breathe out slowly, lose myself to the gentle breeze.

I listen to the music that charges the air
The stories told always warm my soul
My heart still hurts; yet with a simple prayer
I can bring light to my blackhole.

The ocean waves are calmer than my inner storm
I’m tired of feeling the pressure to perform
Once I became enlightened, I couldn’t just ignore
The presence of God in every shape and form.

Breathe in deeply, feel the calm wash over me
Breathe out slowly, lose myself to the gentle breeze.

I listen to the music that charges the air
The stories told always warm my soul
My heart still hurts; yet with a simple prayer
I can bring light to my blackhole.
