EVERYONE DO DU NAPO :-)

When I first joined DU way back when
A challenge was suggested - Napo
30  poems in the 30 days of April
I was nervous at first, sometimes frustrated
I went on to finish it every year since joining

I always looked forward to April every year
Always so stoked, up for it and so motivated
It was a challenge proving the pen was mightier
But am having second thoughts maybe its the sword
Or maybe its the cross swords of a highland fling

Have you ever been made to feel;
As welcome as a fart in a spacesuit
As welcome as wasabi on your penis
Maybe as welcome as a bacon sandwich
Or pulled pork pizza in Israel or Iraq

Have you been made to feel as welcome as crabs
Or as welcome as a well-done steak in Dracula's castle
Or maybe a paedophile priest who wants to alter boys
A cash of automatic weapons found in a schoolyard
As welcome as stink on shit

But I digress (Just for comedic purposes only)
For personal and private reasons I have quit DU's Napo
I do not think it is even a choice or at least a free choice
Sometimes peace of mind requires you to just walk away
Wheeling yourself is also very valid for this legless cowboy

I support and encourage good poets everywhere
To take part and finish this poetic challenge
No point in prayer or faking love for the challenge
Your poems  will come from within - good luck
Good night and may your Gods go with you
