A Love Never Gained

Never did I want to give in
To the frailty of being
But boy
You just have a way

I see your face
In a sea of scattered expressions
This is the way
I fall, not learning my lesson

I fall prey to the shame
Of knowing Iím losing again
No matter the game
You know Iím always going your way

Willing prisoner
Will you tighten the chain?
I willingly suffer
For a love never gained
